12 Years 6 Million Dollars and a Cast of Thousands
The Manila Short Wave Project Begins - 1992
Initial discussions on extending FEBC's broadcasts and increasing the strength of the signals
in key target countries of Asia were begin in and before 1988.  Conceptual planning was
undertaken in fits and starts with real plans for implementation coming together around 1992.
What became the SAVE project and Redemption Phase I, II, and II, was initiated as "Manila
Short Wave Project" or MSWP.  The initial project  works included installing generators, vital due
to constant brownouts in those days, and one new transmitter at FEBC's Bocaue, Philippines
International Transmission Site.

Work Continues as Project S.A.V.E. Southeast Asia Voice of Evangelism
Following this small beginning the earthworks, roadworks, piles, and foundations for the
antennas were built and the towers were erected.  By 1999 the process of erecting the antennas
was under way.  The antenna erection work continued through into the spring of 2000.
Following the antenna erection a 1.5KM long series of transmission lines and supports wee
erected to bring the shortwave radio signals from the transmitters to the antennas.

Work Continues as Project Redemption, Phases I, II, and III.
After completeion of the antenna array and transmission lines, the work started in Manila Short
Wave Project was resumed in the Bocaue transmitter building.  A complete remodeling was
performed to provide filtered and air conditioned air to support new 100KW Continental
Transmitters.  Two new transmitters were installed, the transmitter installed in '92 was
upgraded, and a transmitter was moved from FEBC's Saipan International Transmission Site
was relocated to Bocaue and upgraded.  At completeion Bocaue had a new building,
infrastructure, power system, and four modern 100KW short wave trasmitters.
