Bringing Christ to the Cordillera Central
and to the Cagayan Valley by Radio
Project 1143 Executive Summary

For many years it has been a goal of FEBC Philippines to attempt to reach
out to the Filipinos living in Northern Luzon.  In this area, known as Region 2,
and composed of 5 provinces, live people belonging to a number of tribal
and language groups. Many of these groups are without a Christian witness
by radio. Initial concepts for reaching this area had been under discussion
for 30 years or more, but the time was not yet ripe to begin the work.
program production and audience relations and also in raising the operational funding for
the station.  FEBC will provide the overall coordination and technical expertise for the
operation of the station and will also raise most of the capital funds necessary for station
construction.
Our aim is to develop programming in the various tribal languages of the region that will best
serve the needs of the people of Northern Luzon. Program content will include evangelistic
programming, preaching, Bible teaching, community development and livelihood training
information. Counseling and various educational programs would also be incorporated into
the programming mix.
FEBC has already filed an application with the NTC for the station and a provisional
frequency of 1143 KHz has been assigned.  The planning process necessary to identify the
facilities and equipment needed for the station is already underway.  A site for the studio,
transmitter, and antenna tower has been secured in Isabella province near the town of
Santiago.  Station construction could be under way as early as March 2006 if funds can be
quickly released for the work.
FEBC’s concept for this work is to provide a small but efficient studio and office area
comprised of a medium size recording studio for production of new material along with a
control and playout booth. Since a large amount of material will come in from partners an edit
booth is also planned.  There will be a small office area and a combination
transmitter/electrical room.  This facility will be built as an addition to an existing building at
the Sefton Village (Christian) compound.  The antenna tower will be constructed in rice lands
adjacent to the studio.
The Overall cost of buildings and equipment will be approximately $225,000 (USD).  With
timely funding the station could be on the air before the end of 2006, helping to bring Christ to
the World by Radio.
Cagayan Valley Regional AM STation Project
FEBC’s goal of planting a station in Region 2
moved a step nearer to realization when we
were contacted by a consortium of local
churches in the area.    An advisory committee
was formed on March 21, 2003 to help in the
establishment of a radio station in the
Cagayan valley. The consortium has a broad
membership base drawn from local
churches, mission organizations and FEBC
personnel.
The members of the consortium will assist in
